INFORMATION ABOUT THE EVENT

AFPARC (L5OXO42G3 09AA) fulfills a large majority of the 42G CMRP requirements and provides updates on key medical topics in the management of both civilian and military patients.

Central Funding CMRP Track vs. CME Track

Thank you for your interest in attending AFPARC 2020.  There are few changes that will be implemented this year.

Those who are centrally funded NEED to attend the course to become current on their CMRPs. The goal is to have all PAs up-to-date on CMRPs in the next few years by providing TDY training RIPs directly to their leadership.  However, those who are not centrally funded, will still have the advantage of getting several CMRPs checked off and receive CME credits for their attendance.

Central Funding CMRP Track:
Those who are centrally funded will be separated into 4 groups.  Only those centrally funded can attend: Basic Medical Skills, Acute MSK/Ortho Management, and Battlefield Trauma Management* workshops.  From Tuesday through Friday your schedule will be prescripted and received on arrival at the course registration/check-in.  In the morning, you will attend a CMRP training workshop and medical readiness lectures in the afternoon. For workshops, please wear Air Force PT gear and athletic shoes. You will automatically be registered via the SAFPA website, but an invoice will be generated for $215 and sent via an email or can be paid upon check-in at AFPARC.

Attendance of these workshops during AFPARC is MANDATORY for all Centrally Funded persons.

CME Track:
Meanwhile, those on the CME track have the option of attending: Battlefield Acupuncture, Basic and Advanced Suturing, and Nexplanon Insertion. There are limited spaces for workshops and will be available on a first come, first serve basis based on time of registration.  Lectures are available in the morning and workshops will be provided in the afternoon.  Workshops are not a requirement. Please sign up via the registration links.

All lectures will all be held in the San Antonio Ballroom of the Drury Plaza Hotel and all attendees are welcome to participate in lectures.

For those who are attending the conference, please utilize the group booking number that is attached to reserve a room at the Drury Plaza Hotel San Antonio Riverwalk. This allows us to continue to hold the venue there, at a discounted price.  Those who book using the instructions attached will receive free daily breakfast and the  5:30-7 p.m. Kickback, which includes hot food and cold beverages.

*There are 24 slots for Battlefield Skills for ANG/AFRes attendees. These will be first come/first serve but you'll need to contact the ANG/AFRes SAFPA Liaisons who will gather those names. Emails will be sent to those first 24 people when those slots are filled:

Maj Jennifer King:  jennifer.p.king.mil@mail.mil

Capt Kate Ovington:  kathryn.g.ovington.mil@mail.mil

If you have any questions please contact Victoria Wu, Readiness Course Director at:  Victoria.p.wu.mil@mail.mil

Thank you and hope to see you at AFPARC.
